DAILY NEWS RED BLUFF TEHAMA COUNTY THE VOICE OF TEHAMA COUNTY SINCE 1885 VOLUME 127, NUMBER 130 HOW TO REACH US On the Web: Floral design luncheons By Kathy Bramhall For as long as I can remember Red Bluff Garden Club has hosted a Floral Design Luncheon. Admittedly, I have only been in Garden Club 16 years; Mary Carmichael, Joie Raymond and Fran Galantine can tell you older stories. Admittedly, our Design Luncheons have changed over the years - from spring to fall and from the Elks Lodge, the Community Center, the Fairgrounds, back to the Elks Lodge and for the last 6-7 years at Rolling Hills Casino in Coming. Our Designers have changed, we've had the talented creative Kate Gleim of House of Design for the past 3-4 years, in 2002 we had the quirky and crazy team of Shane Looper and Mary Crowell from the South Bay Area, 2010 we had the exotic mysterious Josifa Casey, the earthy Denis Kelley Plant Barn owner, and many others. Kate Gleim we've enjoyed and learned from year after year. Our themes have changed: 2002 Lunch In The Vineyard, 2010 Masquerade, last year's Bewitching Affair and this year our An Elegant Garden Party - I hope you are wearing your hat. Our food has changed-from potluck food and salad recipes from our "Tastefully Done" Cookbook, cooked up by our multi-talented members to the gourmet fare prepared by the Rolling Hills Casino Chef Hobart. Through all these years our purpose has never changed - to raise funds so the Red Bluff Garden Club can continue to serve Red Bluff, Los Molinos, Tehama and Coming. Lost Frisky comes home after 1 year One year ago Frisky, beloved Fox Terrier pup of the Corrigan home in Red Bluff, disappeared suddenly and mysteriously. The family advertised and searched for weeks for the missing favorite. They finally gave up in despair, and had come to reconcile themselves to the loss. Several days ago Miss Anne Corrigan started on a trip to Vancouver...When the party reached Ashland...Miss Corrigan was amazed to see Frisky trotting leisurely up the street...When she called his name, he rushed into her arms. — Sept. 12, 1923 All farmers and craft vendors, including cottage food chefs who are interested in participating at a local year round farmers market are invited to a barbecue and meeting 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22.
