Page 3 I am thrilled and honored to be writing to you again in this semester's issue of The Hoop of Steel. Since we last spoke, the Chapter has been thriving, and it is an exciting time to be a member of Kansas Beta Chapter of SigEp. MAKING PROGRESS We are hitting all our goals, and we are striving for more despite the success. From intramural sports to the highest levels of recruitment standards, we are striving to be better, and we are becoming better. We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but I could not be prouder of the members and volunteers that are making this all possible. Last semester, we had the honor of being one of the few BMP pilot Chapters. We learned a lot and were the top-performing pilot Chapter for the new program. We also hosted a Greek-wide SLC event with more than 4,000 undergraduates. Dr. Louis Profeta came and delivered his "Sunday Talk on Sex, Drugs, Drinking, and Dying" speech, which was impactful and valuable. We hosted a plethora of other SLC events, but one of our favorites was being paired with Theta Xi to listen to a presentation about how to drink safely while building positive and meaningful relationships with the men in your Chapter. CONTINUING OUR SUCCESS Due to our programming efficiency, we were asked to be a pilot Chapter for the second- consecutive semester. This has allowed us to excel in recruitment, and we are on pace to have 30 new members between the fall and spring classes. This would be record-setting numbers for a second year in a row! Our success does not stop there. We are currently undefeated in all the fall intramurals and plan on making a run for the championships! The Chapter and I cannot thank the alumni enough for their continued support. Kansas Beta Chapter of SigEp is on pace for a Buchannan Cup as long as we continue the efforts we are putting in. If you are ever in Manhattan, please reach out or stop by the house!
