Once a Seahawk ... A PUBLICATION FOR ALUMNI, PARENTS, AND FRIENDS OF BISHOP SEABURY ACADEMY 2024 SUMMER G reetings to the Seabury community and especially our alumni! We are fast approaching the end of another great school year. We enjoyed a Convocation speech in November from alumna Hilary Griggs, traveled to Kansas City's Chicken N Pickle for an exuberant Headmaster's Holiday, took a full contingent of students to France for our spring break international trip, and inaugurated a new form trip tradition—taking our ninth graders to Chicago for a full three days! We surpassed our Seabury Fund goal, and our "Unite for Seabury" superhero-themed auction was the most successful to date—not simply in donations but also in crazy fun. Among the various successes of students in the classroom, in performance, and in competition, one noteworthy moment of pride was our boys' varsity basketball team burning their way to the state championship round. These are just highlights of a vibrant and successful school year. Of course, there has been endless—and I mean endless—clapping in morning meeting! As I am writing this, we are beginning to enjoy warmer temperatures and sunshine, and the world is opening up again to a new cycle of growth and transition. We will celebrate our seniors beyond what is reasonable as they head off to an impressive future, and we welcome the biggest crop of sixth graders in our school's history. The future is bright! Best wishes to all our families and our alumni! Yours respectfully, Dr. Schawang Head of School The FuTure Is BrIghT For seaBury Celebrating Another Fantastic School Year HEADMASTER'S HOLIDAY This year, we went to Chicken N Pickle in Overland Park!
