Walmart in Forest City was the host for the shopping spree and Chick-fi l-A Forest City provided breakfast. The sheriff's offi ce thanks all the Rutherford County Schools partners who participated in the Jail and Bail fundraisers and the generous donors of Rutherford County who made the event successful. Don Cason, executive director, said the campaign is dedicated to accelerating the growth and development of the community. "Everyone is invited to take a part," he said. Rutherford County is "thrilled to provide you with the opportunity to make a lasting impact on Rutherford County by contributing to a project that resonates with you," said Cason. "Your support will not only enhance our community but also allow you to direct your giving towards a cause close to your heart". Cason reminds everyone that no matter the size of a donation, it makes a signifi cant difference in the lives of Rutherford County residents and the vitality of the community. Here are some suggested giving levels: • $5: A small but meaningful contribution that can collectively drive change. • $50: A generous donation that can help fund essential project components. • $500: A substantial gift that can have a substantial impact on your chosen project. • $5,000: An extraordinary commitment that can be a game-changer for our community. Projects being supported by Rutherford Bound - Bound Together, Building Tomorrow are: • Spindale North Slope Skate and Ride: Creating a safe and vibrant space for our youth to gather and enjoy outdoor activities. • Forest City Park Square Depot and Farmers Market: Supporting community education and local farmers by providing access to fresh, healthy food for all. • Rutherfordton Norris Park: Enhancing greenspaces to include disc golf courses, hiking/biking trails, and community gathering spaces. • The Factory at Kid Senses: Fostering entrepreneurship and innovation in the young people of Rutherford County. • Broad River Paddle Trail: Promoting outdoor recreation and preserving our natural environment. • Ellenboro Cotton Gin Park: Preserving the historical heritage, offering educational opportunities, and community gathering spaces. • Chimney Rock Village Streetscape: Supporting tourism and preserving the beauty of our region. • Thermal Belt Rail Trail: Enhancing the rail trail corridor for fi tness and recreation. • Rutherford Trails Collaborative Projects: Building and extending natural surface trails for exploration and adventure in the region, including the Wilderness Gateway State Trail, Hickory Nut Gorge State Trail, and the Overmountain Victory Trail. • Lake Lure Morse Park: Enhancing visitor amenities and outdoor recreation opportunities in an extraordinary setting. • Purple Martin Greenway: Enhancing the natural trail system for exploration of wildlife, creeks, waterfalls, and local plant life. Rutherford Bound has assisted and supported downtown revitalization projects in Chimney Rock Village, Lake Lure, Spindale, and Rutherfordton. Some of the projects stretch across several towns and unincorporated areas such as the Thermal Belt Rail Trail and enhancements along the trail. Kiwanis Park and the Purple Martin Greenway in Rutherfordton are also a part of Rutherford Bound. Upcoming projects include a new Farmer's Market in Forest City, and a new park at the old cotton gin site in Ellenboro. A new skate park/pump track in Spindale, alongside the Thermal Belt Rail Trail, is also in the works. Planning is underway for a new "Norris Park" that will be repurposed from the old Rutherfordton Golf Course. By contributing to the Rutherford Bound, Bound Together, Building Tomorrow campaign, people not only support these projects but also invest in the future of the community. Donations will propel our progress, making Rutherford County an even better place to live, work, and play, said Cason.
