Place 2 cups flour in a bowl. Cut butter and cream cheese into flour using a knife or pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gently mix water into flour mixture until dough forms into a ball. 2. Mix apples and cranberries with brown sugar, white sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl until coated. 3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet. 4. Roll dough onto a lightly floured work surface, forming about an 11-inch circle. Transfer dough to the prepared baking sheet. Arrange apple-cranberry mixture decoratively on the dough, leaving a 2-inch rim of exposed dough. Sprinkle walnuts over apple-cranberry mixture. Gramma's Apple Bread Pudding Ingredients Pudding: • 4 cups soft bread cubes • 2 cups peeled and sliced apples • ¼ cup raisins • 1 ¾ cups milk • 1 cup brown sugar • ¼ cup margarine • 2 large eggs, beaten • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract Vanilla Sauce: • ½ cup milk • ½ cup margarine • ¼ cup white sugar • ¼ cup brown sugar • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Directions 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 7x11-inch baking dish. 2. Make pudding: Combine bread, apples, and raisins in a large bowl. Combine milk, brown sugar, and margarine in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir until margarine is melted. Pour over bread mixture in the bowl; mix until evenly coated. Pour bread mixture into the prepared baking dish. 3. Whisk together eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla in a small bowl. Pour egg mixture over bread mixture in the baking dish. 4. Brown Butter Apple Crisp Bars Ingredients • ½ cup unsalted butter • 2 large Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored, and thinly sliced • 2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter • 1 teaspoon lemon juice • 1 ¼ teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided • 1 pinch salt • 2 teaspoons water • 1 teaspoon cornstarch • 1 ½ cups rolled oats • ¾ cup all-purpose flour • ½ cup firmly packed brown sugar • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract • ½ teaspoon baking soda • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg • ¼ teaspoon salt Directions 1. Place 1/2 cup butter in a medium, light-colored saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook, swirling often, until butter is browned and fragrant, about 10 minutes. Pour into a large mixing bowl and set brown butter aside. 2. Combine apples, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 2 tablespoons butter, lemon juice, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, and pinch of salt in the same saucepan. Place the pan back over medium- low heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until apples are softened, about 10 minutes. 3. Mix water and cornstarch together in a small bowl or measuring cup. Pour mixture into the saucepan and stir to combine. Cook until mixture thickens slightly, 1 to 2 more minutes. Remove pan from the heat and let cool slightly. 4. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 9x9-inch square baking pan with enough parchment paper to have overhang on all sides. 5. Add oats, flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon, vanilla, baking soda, nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon salt to the brown butter and mix until well combined. Measure out 1 cup of this mixture and set aside for topping. 6. Pour remaining oat mixture into the prepared pan; firmly press into an even layer. Pour apples and sauce over the crust and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture. 7. Bake in the preheated oven until top is golden brown and crisp, 30 to 35 minutes.
