The lawsuit — filed in federal court in San Jose — is disputing MLB's exemption to federal antitrust law, which MLB has used as a ''guise'' to control the location of teams, according to the suit. ''It's time for someone to take on this supposed baseball exemption from antitrust laws,'' said attorney Phil Gregory of Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, the law firm representing the city. ''The City of San Jose is a perfect candidate to make that challenge.'' The San Francisco Giants have objected to the A's potential move on grounds they relied on territorial rights to the San Jose-area market when they built their ballpark, AT&T Park. The A's say those rights were only meant to support the Giants' failed efforts in the early 1990s to build a San Jose-area ballpark themselves. The lawsuit contends that such territorial rights, regardless of the team, reduce competition and harm consumers. Giants spokeswoman Staci Slaughter declined to comment. MLB Commissioner Bud Selig appointed a committee more than four years ago to study the A's potential move. NBA FINALS | Game 6 - Heat 103, Spurs 100 (OT) DN Sports Editor As storm clouds hovered over Red Bluff High School, it was the Redding Tigers American Legion baseball team that rained on the Red Bluff Bulls. The Tigers rode a few big innings to a big, 154 win over the Bulls in the first game of a doubleheader Tuesday. Red Bluff's troubles started in the third inning, when a series of timely hits by the Tigers and a few untimely errors by the Bulls had Red Bluff down 4-0. The Bulls got one back in the bottom of the fourth, when consecutive hits by Walker Dodero, Danny Vietti and Eric Shreter set up a bases-loaded threat with two outs recorded in the inning. Cody Jamerson batted in Shreter, but it was all Red Bluff would get in the inning. The Tigers added two runs in the fifth, and Red Bluff added three of its own in the frame off RBI-knocks from Will Macdonald and Dodero to trail Redding 6-4. The Tigers then put the game out of the Bulls' reach in the top of the seventh as Redding notched nine runs in the inning. The Bulls next host a doubleheader against Orland at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Athletics 6, Texas 2 A's keep Rangers at bay 20 points, Bosh had 10 points and 11 rebounds and Shane Battier hit three 3pointers for the Heat, who trailed 75-65 after three quarters. James eschewed his trademark headband in the fourth quarter, then spearheaded the ferocious comeback. He scored six straight points for the Heat, then fed Chris Andersen, who made a free throw to pull the Heat within two at 82-80 with seven minutes to play. James then blocked a layup by Duncan and scored on the other end to tie it and Allen's reverse layup gave ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Brandon Moss and John Jaso homered off Yu Darvish and the AL West-leading Oakland Athletics beat Texas 6-2 on Tuesday night. Jarrod Parker (6-6) limited the Rangers to two runs and three hits over seven innings to improve to 4-0 his last five starts. Darvish (7-3) struck out 10, increasing his majors-best total to 137, but still hasn't won in more than a month. The ace from Japan is 0-2 in his last six starts, a stretch that began with a 1-0 loss to the Athletics on May 21, five days after his last win. Moss put the A's ahead to stay when his 13th homer led off the second. Jaso led off the next inning with his third homer and a 3-0 lead. The Rangers got within 3-2 in the third when Ian Kinsler scored on a vicious collision at the plate, his face slamming into the mask of catcher Jaso while sliding feetfirst. Kinsler needed three stitches near his left jaw and had blood on his jersey when he finally returned to the field to play second base. But that was it for the Rangers a night after they snapped a six-game losing streak by winning the opener of the fourgame set 8-7, and matching their run total during the skid. Oakland (43-30) has a three-game division lead, and will leave Texas later this week still in first place. After the start of the fourth was delayed while Kinsler got treatment, Josh Donaldson singled and Seth Smith doubled for the A's. Donaldson scored on a wild pitch and Smith came home on first baseman Lance Berkman's error. Moss had a leadoff triple in the eighth, and scored on Donaldson's sacrifice fly. The only 1-2-3 inning for Darvish was the sixth, his last. He allowed five runs, four earned, and six hits. There were also two walks, a balk and that wild pitch and he fell to 14 in his career against Oakland, the only team that has beat him four times. Darvish had a 2.08 ERA his previous five starts, including four consecutive no-decisions after that 1-0 loss to Oakland. His last win was 10-4 over Detroit and Justin Verlander on May 16. The six-game stretch without a victory matches Darvish's longest such streak during his seven seasons in Japan before coming to the major leagues last year. Heat survive, force Game 7 MIAMI (AP) — LeBron James shrugged off a poor start to get 32 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds, Ray Allen hit a 3-pointer with 5.2 seconds to play to force overtime and the Miami Heat staved off elimination with a 103-100 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night. James missed nine of his first 12 shots, but scored 16 points in the fourth to rally the Heat from a 10-point deficit. The Heat trailed 9489 with 28 seconds to play, but James hit a 3 with 20 seconds to go and Allen drilled another to tie it. James' layup with 1:43 to play in overtime gave the Heat a 101-100 lead, and Allen added two free throws to force Game 7, which is on Thursday night in Miami. The Spurs had one final chance down 103-100, but Chris Bosh blocked Danny Green's 3-pointer from the corner as time expired. Tim Duncan had 30 points and 17 rebounds in a performance straight out 2003. But he was scoreless in the fourth and overtime and the Spurs squandered a golden opportunity to close out the series and win their fifth championship. Mario Chalmers scored
