Assist The fire department was called at 8:08 p.m. Monday to assist at West Street School with a youth who was too scared to climb down after they had climbed onto the roof of the school. Collision Someone in the area of Donnovan Avenue and Route 99W in Corning reported about 10 p.m. Friday seeing a small blue sedan hit a dog. The suspect is unknown. • Someone on Elizabeth Avenue in Corning reported Saturday that a man called her and said he bought her phone from a man that had taken it from her house. She wanted to file a report on a white iPhone 4 and believed Ronnie Pymill, also known as Shaggy, took it from her home. The woman gave the number of the man that bought the phone, whom she reported was requesting she unlock the phone. • A woman reported Saturday that she and another girl were staying at the Economy Inn on Route 99W when she woke up to find her keys and car were gone. The vehicle is a white 1998 Geo Prizm, license 4BHA419, with a back window broken out. The woman later said she was at a Butte Street residence and did not want to press charges, but wanted assistance retrieving her car. • Someone on Center Street in Corning reported Monday that his bicycle was stolen from his open garage sometime Sunday evening. The bicycle has black handle bars, an orange frame, chrome on the rear of frame and blue on the front of frame. • Someone on Mobile Drive in Corning reported Friday the theft of her black Toshiba 4300 laptop, which was stolen three days prior by a Chico man. • A Corning man reported Friday the theft of his black and gray HP laptop from a Yolo Street residence. Vandalism A man on Grant Avenue in Corning reported about 7:45 p.m. Sunday that a person they had been arguing with came to his house trying to contact him, but he did not answer the door. A few minutes later, a neighbor told him that the person had broken their truck's window. Violence • A man on Toomes Avenue in Corning reported about 8 p.m. Friday that another man was harassing and had pushed him. He said the man had choked his wife. • James Lister, 35, of Red Bluff was arrested Monday in the 1300 block of Third Street where police responded about 9 a.m. for a fight between a man and a woman. Officers learned Lister had assaulted his girlfriend and he was arrested and booked into Tehama County Jail on the charges of felony domestic violence, felony vandalism and violation of parole.
