Second Street. The weekend captured the essence of sisterhood and the strength of our bond. With 400 alumnae and a full house of actives, this intergenerational experience and exchange had everyone from all decades reconnecting and smiling all weekend. The weekend kicked off with Friday night decade parties at various establishments. Hugs, laughter, and so many cries of "Oh my goodness, it's so good to see you!" echoed throughout the gatherings. Saturday morning began at the chapter house with all decades coming together in front of our beautiful house. A drone flew over and captured the historic moment alumnae and actives gathered together, 100 years later. The actives serenaded the alumnae from our "infamous" balcony, and it felt like recruitment had just begun. House tours followed to show off renovations and the new and old living quarters. Exclamations of • "I lived in this room!" • "I slept in this sleeping porch!" • "I loved living in the balcony room!" • "I lived in the apartments!" • "My favorite apartment was…" were repeated over and over again. In our new chapter room, the pride and joy of the house tour, a mini-ritual was highlighted. We were transformed back to a chapter meeting, and the ritual and music reminded us all that we truly share a sisterhood bond like no other. Saturday evening guests were greeted by the Tucson High School Mariachis and "blue and blue" margaritas. The evening featured a video showcasing pictures from all decades, as well as a welcome from Gail Simpson Owen '71, Kappa Kappa Gamma National president. Gail, the Fraternity Council, and the Foundation's Board of Trustees traveled to Tucson to celebrate Gamma Zeta's 100th anniversary. The evening could not end without a resounding Oh, Pat and Bear Down, Arizona. Sunday morning featured The Minnie Stewart Van at the chapter house. This mini-museum on wheels showed our history to sisters young and old to celebrate 150 years of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Sadly, the duration of the Minnie Stewart Van's tour was postponed due to health and safety concerns. We are thankful and fortunate to have had it visit in January and look forward to the day it can tour again. Gamma Zeta Kappa sisters reunited, laughed, shared, reminisced, and remembered what we cherish and treasure no matter the years, because "on the heart of each sister, lies one key that binds us... a badge that reminds us of collegehood days." I do love you truly, KKΓ. You are the only one for me, through years to come I'll faithful be, for I love you truly KKΓ.
