o kick off the centennial, Gamma Zeta held a career panel with some
amazing alumnae.
Loretta McCarthy '65 spoke of her Kappa years fondly and how
Gamma Zeta helped her become who she is today. Loretta is the
managing partner for the Golden Seeds angel network nationwide.
Loretta explained how Golden Seeds supports women entrepreneurs and
gender diversity.
Beth Wooke '84, a set decorator for television shows like This Is Us
and movies, was also in attendance. Beth inspired the actives with
her accomplishments in her field and her positive outlook on life. She
described how when life gave her hurdles, she did not let those hurdles
stop her, but instead she moved ahead with a positive attitude and found
herself in Los Angeles doing a job that she loves.
Becky Fairbanks Carlin '86, a healthcare specialist in the
pharmaceutical industry, told sisters how she is currently spearheading
project management for Merck's global digital transformation.
Paige Kuhn '10 an associate editor at the Bleacher Report, shared how
she has worked hard to excel in the typically male-dominated field of
sports media. Read more about Paige on Page 3.
These Gamma Zeta ladies brought life, humor and experience to the
actives. It was a wonderful afternoon listening to these women share
what they learned during their years at Kappa and how these life-
changing experiences made them into the successes they are today.
