Studio Cascade will be back to lead a workshop on the draft plan thus far on Monday, Feb. 18 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at SkyView on Hay (121 Hay Street). There has been a lot of work done to date from interviews and online surveys to the storefront studio drop-ins and workshops so come here the culmination of those efforts as we move WRZDUGV D ¿QDO YHUVLRQ $OO FRPPXQLW\ PHPEHUV from the greater Fayetteville area including Fort Bragg are encouraged to attend. The downtown planning area extends approximately one mile in all directions from the Market House, encompassing 3,000 acres. Fayetteville State University is also within the planning area, as is a portion of the Cape Fear River, representing two very important components of the emerging downtown strategy. This study will update the 2002 Renaissance Plan, a ten year plan that has largely been implemented through streetscape improvements, the 300 Hay housing area, the Fayetteville Transportation and Local History Museum, the Franklin Street Parking Deck, the Hope VI development and several other projects such as NC Veterans Park. With that, anyone interested in downtown's livability, increased retail activity or the future of the heart of Fayetteville should plan to attend this next workshop. The draft plan will be presented with a recommended blueprint for the next 20 years and the workshop will be interactive.
