Overall, Minnesota Alpha has remained relevant to alumnae of all eras. While women still believe Pi Beta Phi is a top sorority at the University of Minnesota, additional information about the undergraduate experience today will provide clarity and understanding on the need for a building project. B. Attitude and perception of alumnae leadership In this section of the feasibility study, questions were posed to the interviewees concerning the university, national organization, and, more importantly, the local alumnae leadership. Responses are summarized in the following paragraphs. When asked about their perceptions of the University of Minnesota, alumnae felt a strong sense of pride for their alma mater and continue to support the university. Most participants commented on the university's growth over recent years and the capital investment on campus. Many interviewees said that they serve on university advisory boards, attend athletic events, and are frequently asked by the University to donate. Some women mentioned that the academic standard and geographic diversity of the school has improved since their time in school. While there is consistent change at the University of Minnesota, a 2000s alumna summed up the many interviewees sentiments by saying, "Minnesota has always been looked at as a really strong school." Next, alumnae were asked about their perception of Pi Beta Phi as an international organization. Many interviewees have remained connected to the fraternity through their participation in local alumnae clubs, specifically in Minneapolis and St. Paul. In addition, alumnae said they receive communication from the national fraternity and local alumnae clubs, have served as a past or present local chapter volunteer, and donate to the national foundation.
