Serving Quartzsite 24 hour Crisis Line 1-866-495-3735 By Joanne Winer After 27 years selling books in Quartzsite, and after growing to become the biggest bookstore in a 70 mile radius (over 200,000 titles), Reader's Oasis owner Paul Winer is planning on making some changes to the bookstore. He will be having a huge clearance sale from November 1 until the end of February 2018. Paul and Joanne are hoping that by downsizing the amount of books in the store, they will be able to put in a concert area with a stage at one end of the building and eventually have an ice cream and specialty shop at the other end, with a bookstore in the other areas of the building. This will be the fi rst big sale on everything in the store in 27 years!! The sale is going to start November 1 and will include 50% off of all books, movies, audio, music, etc. of every kind. It will also include all rare and scarce books. Collectors take note - EVERYTHING is 50% off! The sale starts early to allow residents, early birds, and regular custom- ers to enjoy fi rst pickings before the winter season. Great buys for Christ- mas gifts! Paul will still take in selective books for trade credit. The bookstore is NOT closing--but making room for a 100 seat music hall for Paul to perform his shows. The store will become the Reader's Oasis Bookstore and Music Hall with plans to add the ice cream spe- cialty shop in the near future that will feature Joanne's homemade ice cream cakes, treats and more. This season, in preparation for the music hall, Paul will be playing music nightly at the book store from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. (tips are welcome.) He is also playing again at the annual Celia's Rainbow Gardens Spaghetti Dinner at the Q.I.A. on Tuesday, November 14 and also the Quartzsite Senior Citizens Center January 21 & 22, and again at the Q.I.A. for a big concert on February 27. He is also playing at the Centennial Hall in Salome/Wenden on Jan. 19 and Feb. 9. The Clearance sale will be every day from November 1 to February 28, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Vendors, bookstore owners, collectors, and every- one who loves books are all welcome to come and get some great bar- gains at this special sale. There will be some outside tables with special prices as well.
