Psi Chapter: Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future Psi Chapter of Sigma Chi at the University of Virginia • Fall 2017 CHAPTER ROOM DEDICATION A HUGE SUCCESS Rick Donlan '68 and Glenn Kirwin '82 Honored O n Friday, April 28, more than six dozen Psis and their guests gathered to dedicate the new Psi Chapter Room. Seventy-five years of Brotherhood were represented—from 1947 to the present day. The event culminated a six year effort to plan, fundraise, and build a new 3,000 square foot addition to the House. The new wing features a first floor Chapter Room and patio and a belowground event venue and terrace for parties. The evening kicked off with the dedication ceremony, a sobering backdrop to the celebration as the Chapter Room was dedicated to two of our fallen Brothers, Rick Donlan '68, who died in Vietnam, and Glenn Kirwin '82 , who died in the World Trade Center on 9/11. House Corporation President, Jim Moore '68 served as the Master of Ceremonies and Steve Herbert '68 provided an overview of the fundraising and construction process. Rob Raiola '18 remarked on the difficulties of the year due to the construction but emphasized the long-term value and sincere gratitude by the Actives for this immense undertaking. Bret Holden and Steve Herbert were recognized for their invaluable contributions. The two have been relentless in their determination and never deterred in their commitment to the vision of (Continued on page 5) Consul Rob Raiola '18 addresses the crowd.
