Around 1,200 students voted, and 55 new senators were chosen. Brother Dave Jensen '18, a junior business management and leadership, human resource major from Warrenville, Illinois was elected student body president. Prior to his run for office, Dave served as the student body speaker of the assembly. It is no wonder he won over his fellow students running on platforms that truly mattered to them. Dave exclaimed, "I can't wait to see how I, along with my peers, can make positive change on campus. I'm so grateful for this opportunity to continue to grow my leadership skills, while empowering others to be their best!" Dave wants to continue promoting student involvement and cross-collaboration of organizations. He is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion and wants to continue sexual assault awareness on campus. This project includes not only the doors, but the frames surrounding them and transoms above them. New entryways in the chapter house will not only be inviting but more secure and durable than those at present and allow for a new exterior lock system that is more easily changeable. To see sketches showing the new look, please drop by the Summer Family Picnic. Looking into the future for summer 2018, an update to kitchen is planned to create a more functional, modern space capable of cooking for not only the residents of the chapter house and undergraduate brothers on the meal plan, but guests for special events with sororities and alumni, recruitment events, all-chapter dinners, and more. If you are interested in learning more about those proposals, please make plans now to attend Homecoming this September to discuss these projects in greater detail.
