Saturday, July 29, 2017 Summer Family Picnic Busse Woods, Elk Grove Village, Illinois The Seventeenth Annual Summer Family Picnic will feature our first ever barbecue cook-off! Bring your best barbecue to claim the title of Grill/Smoke Master for 2017! You are welcome to bring your food and drink, but there will be plenty of food to satisfy your hunger and all manner of beverages to quench your thirst. Games aplenty will be held, so bring your sweetheart, your family, or just drag another brother out of his house to join you for the afternoon. Festivities begin at noon and run until dusk (approximately 8:00 p.m.). Sunday, September 3, 2017 Meet Up for the Chicago Cubs vs Atlanta Braves Baseball Game Wrigley Field, Chicago, Illinois Purchase your general admission bleacher seat NOW for the game! Show up early (game time TBA) and join your brothers, their families and friends at the park. This game will certainly sell-out within the next few weeks, so if you are interested in joining us, purchase your seat now and wait for information as to where and when we will gather at the park. Saturday, September 16 Golden Guard Luncheon The Fieldhouse Bar and Grill, Peoria, Illinois Recognize and honor those brothers of Theta Chi Fraternity with fifty or more years of membership at our Golden Guard Luncheon. ALL alumni and undergraduate brothers are invited to attend this luncheon and meet those men who established the legacy we collectively share. Brothers from the Bradley Class of 1967, who will be attending their 50th Anniversary Reunion that weekend, are expected to attend in good numbers. Brothers initiated in Theta Chi during the 1967 calendar year should contact Bob Carroll '88 at rcecarroll@aol.com and inform him they are attending so he can order their Golden Guard certificates, which will be presented to them at the luncheon. While the University is still finalizing the details of the schedule for Homecoming, we tentatively expect the Gamma Upsilon Annual Meeting to be held on campus after this luncheon. After this, everyone will depart for the tailgate party at the Homecoming soccer game, with dinner to follow after the game itself. Brothers reunited earlier this year at the Chicago Wolves alumni event. 2017 Theta Chi for Life Campaign Is Underway! So far, 34 donors pledged $6,180 toward this year's annual campaign. We are over halfway to our goal of $11,000 but need your help to reach our full potential. Please visit our alumni website at gammupsilon.org to make your donation. Your contribution assists us in making much needed improvements to the chapter house to keep it among the most livable fraternity spaces on campus.
