Born in Rutherford County Au- gust 27, 1922, she is the daughter of the late Tilden Stallings and Belle McCurry Stallings. Her husband was the late Lee Roy Elliott, Sr. Her children are Lydia E. Hamrick, Jackson Elliott, Bob Elliott, James Elliott, and the late Lee Roy Elliott, Jr. Bessie and husband Lee Roy, Sr. worked and raised a family on the family farm. Later, Bessie worked at Haven in the Hills Nursing Home,and retired after more than 30 years of service as a nursing assistant. She has a total of 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
