CONTRIBUTED By Heather Hoelscher hhoelscher@redbluffdailynews. com @DN_Heather on Twitter REDBLUFF City residents may be asked to move their cars off the streets on certain days to increase the efficiency of street sweepers. Green Waste of Tehama dis- cussed recycling options for businesses and street sweeping schedules with the City Coun- cil after concerns were brought up by residents regarding ser- vices. Green Waste is addressing recycling at local businesses by sending out informational flyers to commercial custom- ers, as it does for its residen- tial customers, regarding the options available. Those op- tions include receiving a free 64-gallon small recycling cart, said Amanda Garrett, Green Waste district manager, at an early April meeting. Councilman Clay Parker said public awareness is cru- cial and many commercial cus- tomers are not aware that re- cycling services are available to them. In regards to street sweep- ing, Parker said he would like to be notified, along with the other council members, when residents do not see street sweeping being done in their area. "With this information, we could contact Green Waste and ensure that the issue is re- solved," Parker said. Mayor Pro Tem Daniele Jackson asked Garrett whether part of the issue was cars be- ing parked on the street dur- ing street sweeping. Garrett said if cars were moved during that time it would improve the efficiency and quality of the street sweep- ing.
