CHAPTER ETERNAL Mary Harpster Dysart '53 of Columbia, Mo., entered Chapter Eternal on January 24 after an extended illness. Mary's loving family was by her side at the time of her passing. She earned a degree in home economics from Mizzou. Mary was passionate about the arts, music and fashion. She enjoyed painting, drawing, decorating her home, traveling, and was an excellent seamstress. Mary was involved in the Columbia Symphony Society, the Columbia Art League and the early development of the Maplewood Barn Theater. She is survived by her husband, Charles; three daughters, Ann, Kathy, and Pat; three brothers; and four grandsons. Marilyn Hardy Scheffel '57 entered Chapter Eternal peacefully on May 22. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 55 years, Kenneth George Scheffel, in 2013. Marilyn received her B.S. in education. She and her family lived in various cities and states, finally retiring to their home at The Governor's Club in Chapel Hill, N.C. Marilyn was a member of many women's clubs and choirs. Her favorite pastime was to travel the world with Ken. Marilyn is survived by her four children: Steven Scheffel, Lauri Scheffel, Sherri Dunn and husband, Jim, and Elizabeth Northup and husband, Brad; 11 grandchildren; and her brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Stanton and Jean Hardy. She will be greatly missed. Susan Blossom Babbitt '72 of Grover, Mo., entered Chapter Eternal on October 28, 2015, from complications related to liver cancer. While in college at Mizzou, she participated in synchronized water ballet. Scuba diving in the Missouri mines and bicycling on the Katy Trail with family and friends were some of her other pastimes. Susan worked at Edward Jones for 23 years and was a dedicated employee who loved her work. She is survived by her spouse, her two children, her mother, ALuMNAE uPDATE
