Trucking firm proves it's tough enough to wear pink Charles Mueller Trucking and the Red Bluff Round-Up Association recently presented Mercy Foundation North with a check for $16,500 to help support the RN Navigator Program. Each year during the Red Bluff Round-Up the entire community comes together as local businesses bid on rodeo day auctions to support their local hospital. This year, first time bidders Charles Mueller Trucking won the auction with a bid of $14,000. The Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign is a way for rodeos and western events to promote breast cancer awareness and to raise money locally. The campaign was started in 2004 when entrepreneur and breast cancer survivor Terry Wheatley found a way to blend the support of the western community with a campaign against breast cancer. Since its inception the campaign has raised more than $10 million for breast cancer charities, most of which stays within local communities. "Tough Enough to Wear Pink is a community-wide event and many businesses, service organizations, and individuals participate in the event," said Jolene Kemen, a Round-Up director. "Since 2006, Tough Enough to Wear Pink activities have brought in over $360,000 in donations that benefit St. Elizabeth's Community Hospital's breast cancer related services." St. Elizabeth thank the above mentioned sponsors. "We are more than grateful to the Red Bluff Round-Up Association and all the organizations in Tehama County that participate in Tough Enough to Wear Pink for their continued support and generosity, without their help the excellent level of service provided in state-of-the-art centers wo uld not be possible," President Todd Smith said.
