The cost is $10 per animal. North Carolina law requires that "the owner of every dog and cat over four months of age shall have the animal vaccinated against rabies." To remain properly immunized, a dog or cat must receive two rabies vaccinations one year apart, then one vaccination every three years thereafter. Please keep your dog on a leash. Keep your cats in separate carriers or boxes or leave them in your car. Only cash is accepted for payment. Please bring exact change. Checks will not be accepted. Call 910-433-3660 for information. Sign Up For Extension Master Gardener Program Cumberland County Cooperative Extension's Master Gardener program is accepting applications for the next Master Gardener Volunteer class beginning Jan. 12, 2017, and ending May 4, 2017. The class will meet every Thursday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Cooperative Extension Auditorium, located at 301 East Mountain Drive, Fayetteville. Government and Heritage Library includes four lectures and information on libraries and genealogy collections across the state. • Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m., Victorian Series - Victorian Mourning: Heidi Bleazy of the Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum will discuss the mourning rituals of the Victorian Era in Cumberland County. • Oct. 20 at 6 p.m., Genealogy Drop-In Clinic: Get your genealogy questions answered by librarians and members of the Cumberland County Genealogical Society to help with family history research. Citizens who want to take advantage of early voting, but are not registered to vote, may do same-day registration during One-Stop early voting if they provide acceptable documentation. The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 8.
