3 THE ORACLE T he men of Alpha-Omicron are looking forward to another great year at the chapter house building on last year's success. I'm proud to report that the chapter is functioning at its highest level in years, as we just received the Phoenix Award for unusually positive strides in overall chapter operations for at least three consecutive years at the Lambda Chi Alpha General Assembly in August. We are all thrilled to be recognized for our efforts and plan to use that momentum to further improve the chapter. TOP 10 AT INDIANA UNIVERSITY Academically, the men of Alpha-Omicron performed well in the spring, earning a chapter GPA of 3.19. Our strong performance placed us in the top 10 of all IFC fraternities at Indiana University and surpassed the IFC average GPA. GROWING BROTHERHOOD Perhaps the strongest aspect of Alpha-Omicron as of late has been our recruiting efforts. On April 23, we initiated 18 associate members, bringing our total membership to 157. We're all excited for what we expect to be yet another successful fall recruitment and to further grow our brotherhood. ALUMNUS AWARDED Alpha-Omicron is doing very well in virtually every dimension. Our strong performance would not have been possible without help from our High Pi, Joe Folkening, Wabash College '88. Joe was recently recognized for his outstanding service to the fraternity at the Lambda Chi Alpha General Assembly, where he received the Order of Merit award. The award recognizes "unusual, lengthy, and dedicated service, particularly at the local chapter level." Joe has been a close friend, mentor, and guide to many of us at AO and always prioritizes the chapter at the highest level. I feel honored to be chosen to lead such a great chapter. I want to sincerely thank all of our alumni for their generous support and invite you to reach out to me and come by the chapter house anytime you wish.
