2 THE ORACLE I t was another solid year for the Little 500 team, though it was also a rebuilding process. In 2015, three seniors graduated, and throughout this past school year injury, members studying abroad, and personal issues claimed another three from our team. We were left with four members who had never competed in the Little 500 before. As you can imagine, this made things tough against a very strong field. Yet, we still managed to qualify in the top half of teams at 14th, and after two unfortunate wrecks in the actual race, we finished in 18th. We are very optimistic about this upcoming year. We will have three returning riders, two of whom have competed in the event before. Additionally, we have recruited a member of our most recent spring class to join the team and are hoping to sign a new member who trains, is very close with many brothers in the house, and competes in Ironman competitions. Across campus, many of the strongest teams are graduating between two and four riders, which will alter the field significantly. We plan to accomplish some big things in 2017! We hope to see many alumni and former riders at the event on April 22, 2017. Special thanks to Dan Cummins '17 for contributing to this article. Colonel Hornaday Club ($2,500 and above) John K.
