Kappa Kappa Gamma 3 Epsilon Beta Thrives in Spring Chapter Focuses on Academic Programming T his past semester has been a great one for Epsilon Beta chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma. In the past few months, our sisterhood has made positive strides as we celebrated our 60th year on the Colorado State University campus. HELPING THOSE IN NEED In the fall of 2015, we hosted our 14th annual Chili Con Kappa philanthropy event, where we were able to raise more than $3,800, in addition to acquiring 100 people for the bone marrow registry. All funds from the event were donated to the Fort Collins Rescue Mission. This spring, we hosted our first philanthropy soccer tournament, Kickin' It with Kappa. The event was a huge success, and surpassed all of the goals we had set for a first-time event. We donated all proceeds to Kappa Kappa Gamma's national philanthropy, Reading is Fundamental. KEEPING ACADEMICS A PRIORITY Over the past year, we managed to maintain our GPA above the all- women's average, and made tremendous improvement in our academic programming. This semester, we invited Dean of Students Jody Donovan to give a presentation about the importance of academics. We are planning to continue working with her as well as other campus offices to give the women in our chapter access to any resources and assistance they need to do their best academically. STAYING IN TOUCH WITH ALUMNAE We have continued to work on our chapter communication in recent years to keep alumnae connected and informed about Epsilon Beta. As we celebrate our 60th year on campus, we reached out to all of our founding members, as well as numerous other alumnae, to acquire photos, stories, and memories to share with everyone. Our chapter has continued to host a Founder's Day event each fall, which has given us the opportunity to truly appreciate our alumnae, their support, and our history as a chapter. Epsilon Beta is looking forward to continuing in this positive direction and cannot wait to share the accomplishments and opportunities that may arise in the coming year!
