May 30, 2012 QPD Arrest Report May 11th thru May 23rd, 2012 The following arrests were made by the Quartzsite Police Department 5-11: Phillip Coash, age 58, of Quartzsite, was arrested and booked into the La Paz County Jail for Shop- lifting and False Reporting to Law Enforcement. 5-12: Robert Stroud, age 21, of Parker, AZ, was arrested and booked into the La Paz County Jail for an Outstanding Warrant issued from Maricopa County. Stroud was also cited for Failure to Follow Posted Speed Limit. 5-15: John Wayne Neiders, age 40, of Lake Havasu City, AZ, was cit- ed and released for Excessive Speed 5-15: Douglas Ryan Webb, age 61, of Alpena, MI, was arrested and booked into the La Paz County Jail for Criminal Damage. 5-16: Michael Dean Ditty, age 61, of Quartzsite, was arrested and booked into the La Paz County Jail for Driving on a Suspended License, and No Proof of Insurance. 5-16: Nagaraja Patsa, age 51, of Ar- tesia, CA, was cited and released for Excessive Speed, and Failure to Yield to Law Enforcement. 5-17: Ricky Duckworth, age 43, of Quartzsite, was arrested and booked into the La Paz County Jail for Crimi- nal Trespass. 5-17: Armando Cruz, age 50, of Tucson, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 5-18: Linda Saulsbury, age 65, of Quartzsite, was arrested and booked into the La Paz County Jail for False Reporting to Police Offi cers, and Disorderly Conduct. 5-20: Christian Garcia Rodri- guez, age 23, of Mission Viejo, CA, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 5-21: William Lee Miller, age 57, of Quartzsite, was cited and released for a Town Code violation for Barking Dogs. 5-21: Rosa Margarita Celaya- Lara, age 45, of Quartzsite, was arrested and booked into the La Paz www.DesertMessenger.com County Jail for an Outstanding War- rant. 5-21: Logan Edwin Scott Deaton, age 21, of Westmorland, CA, was cited and released for Exceeding 85 MPH. 5-23: Gary Collette Yates, age 59, of Murrieta, CA, was arrested and booked into La Paz County Jail for an Outstanding Warrant. Food Handlers Classes La Paz County Health Dept. provides Food Handler Classes in Quartzsite. The classes are held on Wednesdays. In December and January, the Department adds Friday classes to the schedule. La Paz County Health Regulations require that all food handlers or those people handling equipment must obtain a Food Handlers card prior to working in a food booth. Food Handler cards cost $15 (fees waived for volunteers for non- profi t groups) can be obtained by coming to Health Department on Monday, Wednesday, and Thurs- day (7:00 am – 5:00 pm) to watch the video and take the test with a score of 70% or higher (retakes al- lowed) or by presenting a current food handlers card from another jurisdiction and paying cost of La Paz card, or by claiming extensive food knowledge and taking the test (no retakes without watching the video). The food handler card must be obtained annually.
