Spring 2016 INSIDE: Thank You, Generous Texas Beta Brothers • Page 2 Alumni Spotlights • Page 2-3 Connect Online • Page 3 BETA CHRONICLE Beta Omicron Chapter of Beta Theta Pi at the University of Texas BETA OMICRON ANNOUNCES $2.5 MILLION CAMPAIGN The Future of Beta Theta Pi at UT Is up to Us W hat will Beta Omicron be? It is up to us. Beta's departure from campus six years ago was in recognition that the old business model no longer worked. As difficult as it was at the time it laid the groundwork for a resurgence of the Chapter focused on the Men of Principle Initiative. Today, we've been given an opportunity to make the history, the leadership, and the brotherhood of Beta Omicron available to the next generation of young men at the University of Texas. There are 50 solid refounding fathers who are working hard to return Beta Omicron to glory. With the guidance of 12 chapter advisers, they are involved all over campus in leadership, academic, athletic and social roles, and are creating a chapter of which we can all be proud. They are young men worth supporting and, like each of us, they are building lifelong friendships and developing essential social and leadership skills that will serve them well once they leave UT. The Chapter continues to grow with 20 spring recruits and a goal of 120 men during the next 18 months. Alumni will provide the right support, oversight, and mentoring but, most importantly, we must help to provide a competitive and safe facility to call home. We're committed to providing the Chapter with a house by fall of 2018 that will allow them to continue their success, and we hope you are too. We know our success will continue by recruiting quality young men and with the right support, oversight, and mentoring from alumni. This growth, though, will soon be hindered by not having a competitive and safe facility. Given these immediate needs, we are proud to announce the Building the Future of Texas Beta campaign. Early commitments from generous alumni and friends total more than $1.6 million. We are proud of this incredible start to the next chapter in Beta Omicron's history. Whether you are a member of the class of 1946 or 2016, Beta Omicron needs your help now. This is the time to remember your Beta experience. Remember what an impact Beta had on you, and think about how your life has been affected by your membership and your brothers. It is only through the lifelong bonds of Beta Theta Pi brotherhood that future generations may share the same experience. In the coming weeks, you will receive additional information detailing the project, the campaign, and ways in which you can help. We will be honored to have you join our growing list of loyal supporters who are leaving their legacy and providing for future generations. Thank you for your loyalty, consideration, and support of Beta Theta Pi. Yours in _kai_, Campaign Chairmen Louis Baldwin '68 and Mac Churchill '68
