New Courtyard Fountain in Memory of Sue Miller Park '52 W e've had a place designated for a fountain in our courtyard since we opened and finally found the perfect fountain. It has been placed in memory of long-time Property Advisor and House Corporation President Sue Miller Park '52. Sue was a native of Russellville, Alabama, and married Stanley Park, a KA from Tuscaloosa. She was the property advisor for many years and later served as the house corporation president for 25 years. Her daughter, Kay Park McGiffert '81, is currently serving as the house corporation treasurer. Kay's two daughters were Psi AGD's as well. After battling breast cancer for six years, Sue passed away in August of 2013. She was able to attend the donor gala in 2013 for the opening of the new chapter house and was thrilled to see our beautiful home. Sue truly loved Alpha Gam from the day she pledged until the day she died. We are so grateful for all she did for our chapter. The Squirrel's Nest 2 T he chapter members love when alumnae come to visit and eat with them on game day. However, game day meals have become a huge financial burden to the chapter. With more than 400 active members, and limited seating, Psi Chapter has implemented a new plan for serving on game days. Starting with the Ole Miss game, each chapter member will receive two wristbands, which are required to be served. If a member needs additional wristbands, they are available for $10 each and must be ordered by noon the Wednesday prior to the game. Undergraduates who do not have guests coming may give theirs to other members. On game day, alumnae may pick up their pre-purchased wristbands or buy them at the door, but we encourage advance purchase so the chapter is better prepared when ordering food. Having served more than 800 people on each game day last year, we have to be prepared for the food needed as well as be aware of fire code limits on the number of people in the house.
