Page 28 www.DesertMessenger.com Arrest Report by QPD The following arrests were made by the Quartzsite Police Department from Jan. 11 to Jan. 25, 2012 JERRY Lukkasson for MAYOR! • Resident of Quartzsite for 4 years. • Business Owner in Quartzsite for over 4 years. • Community Activist I am a recent resident of Quartzsite and am not part of the good old boy system that has been around since incorporation. I have seen many changes in the past few years. It is my belief that as one of seven members of the council, the council as a whole needs to look at new and different opportunities to pro- mote and create jobs for our town. Our community consists of a larger number of younger fami- lies and it is our responsibility to make sure that they can suc- ceed and live comfortably in our community. Without stability and solid leadership it will be difficult to accomplish this. This past summer Quartzsite was put on the map. Not by truthful representation, but that is in the past. Now it is time to stop the negative campaign of our town and focus on that which will bring us together for the good of our community. I have owned my own business for over 30 years and have experienced the ups and downs that a business goes through due to economic turns. I continue to get up every morning, 7 days a week, to run my business and take care of what needs to be done to get the job done. I am committed to the town in this way also…. whatever it takes to make Quartzsite a viable, prosperous community for all.
