Page 20 Snack Shack update: At the Town Hall meeting held Wed. Jan. 25th, Assistant Town Manager, Al John- son answered questions regarding the Snack Shack building at the Town Park Football and Baseball Fields. The project was started over a year ago with donations from the community, but stalled as volun- teer workers are busy with the height of the season. To complete the project, Johnson estimated $1500-$2000 are still needed. www.DesertMessenger.com Local resident, Dick Thompson, said there would be a check for at Town Hall that af- ternoon. Within an hour, Mr. Thompson made good on his promise with a donation of $500, saying, "I hope this will be the start of others donating. Sometimes it just takes a kick start to get it going." To add to Mr. Thompson's donation, please make checks payable to Town of Quartzsite with "Snack Shack" in the memo field. Mail check to PO Box 2812, Quartzsite, AZ 85346, or drop off at Town Hall, 465 N. Plymouth. Thinking of replacing your 751 locks on your RV? Submitted by Betty Crenshaw This is always a good idea. This time of year vendors are trying to sell replacement locks. One of the most convincing are the Round Key Lock venders. These are great for high security and key control. But, they do not have a weather shutter on them to prevent water, snow and dirt from getting into the locks and causing key problems. And then you have to match the sizes because not all 751 locks are the same size. If you look at your compartment locks they have a close shutter on them that your key has to pass through to unlock this is to prevent moisture from seeping into the key hole. They also have a weather rubber O ring installed in them to prevent moisture from seeping into your com- partments. These locks are made for over the road conditions. Your best bet is to have a qualified Locksmith rekey the locks. And the cost is much less. To learn more on how to protect your RV, contact C & B Lock, CML with 37 years experience. 928-927-6589.
