Full conference registra- tion is $249 by May 1. After May 1, the registration fee is $279. This fee includes admission to all sessions, presentations, exhibits, materials and breakfasts, luncheon and dinner. A one-day fee for Thurs- day May 7 only is $179 by May 1, or $209 afterwards. This fee includes all meals and workshops offered on Thursday, May 7. Individuals who are not registered for the confer- ence are welcome to at- tend the Veterans Award luncheon for $20 and the Thursday night dinner for $30 as guests. BUSINESS California Employers' conference set for May Coming up this weekend is Corning's May Madness Car Show and other events you won't want to miss. Friday begins with the cruise at 5:30 p.m. on So- lano from 3rd to Hough- ton Aveue. Those in the cruise will have a chance to win $100 in Corning Cash. Each loop will earn the cruiser another card and the one with the larg- est hand wins. The winner will collect his money at the barbe- cue at 6 p.m. in the park- ing lot next to the Cham- ber of Commerce between 3rd and 4th on Solano. The barbecue is being prepared by Ranchers Meat and Deli with a choice of a ham- burger, hotdog or chicken fajita with chips, soda or water and ice cream. There will be live music by Book 'em Dano and fire dancers follow. If you are not registered for the car show you may still attend the barbecue. The cost is $7. Those who register for the car show by Friday evening will receive two tickets for the barbe- cue included with regis- tration. Saturday morning the Corning Volunteer Fire De- partment will serve a pan- cake breakfast at the fire hall 7-10 a.m. for $5. Registration will open at 7 a.m. and close at 10 a.m. All vehicles must be parked by 10 a.m. in or- der to be judged. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be a Singer and Songwriter contest in the American- West parking lot at 4th and Solano, sponsored by House of Brews Spe- cialty Coffees. Along So- lano there will be food and commercial vendors throughout the day and the raffle drawing will run noon until 3 p.m. when the awards presentation will take place. There will be fun ac- tivities for youth as well like the pinewood derby on 5th and Solano. The American Legion base- ball team will have a pitching device and the Corning Police will be present with the radar to time the speed of the pitches from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The team will also be selling hamburgers and hotdogs as well as T- shirts as a fundraiser. CORNING CHAMBER Car show rolling into town Friday Greenville Rancheria has recently added Dr. Ni- ranjan Dass, MDtoitsstaff at Greenville Rancheria Tribal Health Center. Dass re- ceived his medical degree in Ludhiana, India followed by an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) residency. Later he received his Pediatric train- ing at Texas Tech Univer- sity in El Paso, Texas. Af- ter completing his training he accepted a position at Ridgecrest Regional Hospi- tal in Ridgecrest. Dass is a full-time em- ployee and cares for new- born patientsthrough adult- hood. He will see all pediat- ric patients but his special interests are attention def- icit hypersensitivity disor- ders, anxiety, depression and learning disorders. Training in ENT is an ad- vantage for treating upper respiratory problems, ear conditions and allergies. Dass also has had two years of training and research on gastrointestinal diseases in children. He has been ap- proved to participate in the Child Health and Disability PreventionProgram(CHDP). Dass says it is a privilege to provide care for children and he treats them as if they were his own children.
