SENIOR CENTER THANKS CLUB I can't thank the "Ye Old Timers Club", their members and the bidders enough for their Auction held at the Senior Center on January 22nd. The Quartzsite Senior Center was the recipient of a percentage of the amount collected. As you know the Senior Center is one of the few places that stay open year-round, and feed folks fi ve days a week for donations only. All our workers are volunteers. The La Paz County Spelling Bee will be held on February 12, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the Board of Supervisors Meet- ing Room in Parker. Representing the Quartzsite Elementary School (QES) District will be Cobey Hagar from Quartzsite and Elias Pedroza from Ehrenberg. Ultimately, 27 students from across Arizona will compete in the Arizona Ed- ucational Foundation Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., at Eight/Arizona PBS, 500 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85004 in the Kemper & Ethel Marley Studio, 6th Floor. The winner of the Arizona Spell- ing Bee will represent Arizona at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. in late May/early June 2015.
