It seems like school just started yesterday. This month in CHARACTER COUNTS our students will be studying "Trustworthiness". When we are trustworthy we are honest, don't deceive, cheat, or steal. We are reliable, and have courage to do the right thing. You build a good reputation, by being loyal by standing by your family, friends, country and school. We have a busy month ahead with Picture day (10/6), Columbus Day (10/10) Bus Safety Week and CHARACTER COUNTS WEEK (10/17-21), Red Ribbon Parade (10/22), Fall Festival (10/27), Parent Teacher Conferences (10/28) and Halloween (10/31)! There is a lot going on so look for notices in your child's back pack daily. This October, the Choir will be working on learning some scary tunes to perform at the Fall Festival on October 27th. The Fall Festival is sponsored by The Bouse Student Council and BESST Organization. We are looking for donations of items for the raffle and cakes for the cake walk again. Thursday, Oct. 6 . . . This year's theme was "Commu- nity, United by Choice." A Traditional Pow Wow was part of the event, which was held Sept. 30th to Oct. 2nd. The week-long events included: Pageants for: Jr. Miss CRIT and Miss CRIT, Miss Jr. Western, Lit- tle Miss Dudette & Little Mr. Dude Contest, and Miss Parker. A new addition this year was the Hat and Boot competition, where contestants danced in regalia and jeans, with cowboy hats, swinging ropes. It's an old dance, one for the cowboys who didn't have time for regalia, coming off the range. It was very popular with the crowd. The next Pow Wow is planned for New Year's Eve in the gym. Airman sings at Nascar Blythe, Calif. - Senior Airman Nao- mi "Nadeau" Scott, a 2004 gradu- ate of Palo Verde High School, sang the National Anthem for the Nationwide Series of NASCAR, October 1, 2011 at Dover Downs in Dover Delaware. Many residents will remember Naomi for competing at Palo Verde High School Talent Shows as well as singing the National Anthem at Lucas Oil's, I-10 Speedway in Blythe on Saturday nights.
