Tony Wirkus '11 is our new Chapter advisor, replacing Steve Richardson '87, who served in this capacity for more than four years. Tony, a former pro consul, holds undergraduate and master degrees in agricultural, food, and natural resources and is the assistant director of event coordination in the MU athletic department. Our many thanks to Steve and our kudos to Tony who, perhaps due to his youth and recent experience with the Chapter, has hit the ground running. Covered in greater detail in this issue is the departure of house mom Kathy Estes. Kathy, who we recognize as queen of the universe for organization, formulated an excellent plan for transition, approved by the House Corporation, so we will not miss a beat in terms of property and Chapter supervision. More change is coming in the expansion of our communications to alumni, parents and university personnel. In a grand step toward the 21st century, we will soon introduce a new Xi Xi website to give our target audiences a constant resource for news. We will be sending you information on website contact when it goes online. The House Corporation is getting a firmer hold on itself by amending rather foggy past rules, giving more clarity to the parameters of service and the rotation of individuals on the general body and the board. Since an open pit might collect bodies and law suits more than rain, we chose the substructure. We will be redirecting water off the roofs to areas away from the substructure of the house. Mum's the word if it makes its way into a sewer. House Director Resigns from Full-Time Position Responsibilities Shared by Mom Kathy and New House Dad Dear Sigma Chi family, It is with great sadness that I announce I am leaving the Chapter as the Sigma Chi house mom. I have had some health issues for the last several months that at this time are just going to require my full focus and attention, and as you can imagine, that's pretty hard for me to do here. However, I am not going far or totally leaving the Chapter. I will be job sharing with a new person, a house dad, and I am very excited about it. Doug Lane has an extensive background in military, law enforcement, and currently manages Signal 88 Security in Columbia. He has been working with fraternities for the last several years not only in security operations but also project management, leadership, education, and mentoring of officers and members in how to keep their chapters and houses safe. He is very excited to join the (Continued on page 4)
