SIGMA PHI EPSILON 5 Alpha Artery Aaron Cromer '16 traveled with a select group of SigEps on Tragos Quest to Greece to learn more about fraternal ties, history, and brotherly love. Levi Close '17 carried a SigEp flag at the Deer Valley Colorado dude ranch he worked at over the summer. Kade Castleberry '18, JJ Beasley '16, and Nick Nelson '18 after the Sigma Right of Passage. New members after the annual signing day event held last June. Chapter Counselor's Report H ello, alumni! Hope you are all doing well. We have successfully wrapped up another school year, and I wanted to provide you a summary on Oklahoma Alpha's successes for 2014-15: • Logan Scott '14 received a Zollinger Senior award (our first one in at least six years). • Ryan Anthony '16 received the Zollinger Sophomore award (our first one in at least six years). • At Carlson Leadership Academy, the AVC received the Operational Excellence Award for Fiscal Health, due in large part to the chapter enacting and upholding a 30/60/90 payment policy. • Logan Scott '14 received Oklahoma State Outstanding Senior. • Jared Allison '15 is the student representative on the OSU Higher Education Student Advisory Board. • First place in Freshman Follies • Second place in Spring Sing • Third place in Varsity Revue • We raised $5,500 in our first ever SafaRAVE, to benefit the Trey Kertz Memorial Scholarship. Because of our donation, the scholarship is now fully endowed. • Received a $1,500 Green Grant from Oklahoma State to purchase all new dishes for the house. • With the help of Micki Rogers, parent club president, and the AVC, new couches, stools and ottomans were purchased for the house. • New tile flooring was installed in the upstairs hallway. • Ridge Howell '18 received Outstanding New Member of the Year award at Greek Awards. • Aaron Cromer '16 received the top three Greek Sophomore of the Year award at Greek Awards. Mom's Day was held in early April and was another success. The guys and their moms made baby blankets for Infant Crisis Services. It was a great event, raising $970 for the Parent Association account. Thanks to Nick O'Hara '15, Micki, and Mom B who all had a huge hand in the event going off so well. The parents decided to try and get a used (new to them) pool table for the house, with a custom felt top, or at least update the one we have. Recruitment was led by Jesse Fate '16 and advised by Ty Ketchum '13. Although recruitment is complete, if anyone has names of potential recruits, please send to Jesse (jesse.fate@okstate.edu) or Ty (Ty.L.Ketchum@conocophillips.com). I know you all don't get to interact with the chapter as much as I do, but I can tell you a few things with full confidence. They work hard to make you proud. Sure, they have blips because they are 18-21-year-old college men, but overwhelmingly, they are doing things right, making good decisions and continuing to make SigEp a respected fraternity on campus. They had a tough fall semester after losing some members to grades but are rebounding well and I have no doubt that will continue. They realize how very blessed they are to have such a supportive team behind them, especially the executive board. They are lucky enough to have a chapter counselor, four alumni advisors, a housing corporation, a parent club with an involved president and an awesome house mom! I know I speak for the men when I say thank you for everything you have done and will do for the guys. Happy to have had another successful year and we look forward to 2014-15! Kay Robinson Krobinson21@uco.edu Undergraduates and their mothers made baby blankets for the infant crisis center last spring for Mom's Day.
