THE IOWA STATE PHI 6 Congratulations to Two Phi Scholarship Winners Austin Javellana 1818 – Arthur R. Priest Scholarship Arthur R. Priest, DePauw 1891, was the Fraternity's first executive secretary, serving in that position from 1923 to 1937. The Arthur R. Priest Award has been given each year since 1954 to the Fraternity's most outstanding undergraduate member. Jackson Mores 1838 – Robert J. Miller Leadership Award The Robert J. Miller Leadership Award was established in 1990 in honor of Brother Robert Miller, New Mexico '50, who would retire the next year from his position as executive vice president of Phi Delta Theta. Gifts to establish this scholarship were received from Brother Miller's many friends. Each year the undergraduate brother judged to have demonstrated the most outstanding leadership in his chapter and on his campus is awarded the Robert J. Miller Leadership Award. Jackson Mores 1838 (left) and Austin Javellana 1818 were inducted into Cardinal Key. Cardinal Key is Iowa State's premier honorary on campus. Only 1/3 of 1% of the junior class and 1/2 of 1% of the senior class are extended membership into the honor society.
