Special to Desert Messenger By Lyle Browning ~ University of Arizona Cooperative Extension Service This tree is a very popular tree variety in low deserts in Arizona. It is sometimes sold as just sissoo or sometimes Arizona rosewood. This tree is a fast growing semi-evergreen that can grow 25-50 feet tall and as wide. It is thorn less and looks very much like a tropical tree, which it is. Native to India, it is grown there for lumber and fuel. It has not been used here for any purpose except as a land- scape tree. Sounds like a perfect landscape tree for La Paz County- right? Before you run to the nearest nursery to buy one, there are some things you may want to consider. Having shal- low, invasive roots, it should not be planted close to sidewalks, drive Dalbergia Sissoo trees THRIFT STORE Benefitting the La Paz County Animal Shelter in Parker Supported by your generous donations! 455 E.
