There are 15 pieces brought to you by the City of Fayetteville with presenting sponsor The Fayetteville Observer and supporting sponsor Cross Creek Mall along with a cultural arts tourism grant from the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County. The project is designed to increase tourism to Fayetteville and Cumberland County. Market at the Museum every Wednesday and Saturday! Independent Retailer's Month in July! In July, we are celebrating Independent Retailer Month downtown to celebrate our independent retailers and the positive social and economic impact they make, not only in our community, but in our state and nationally! We are encouraging everyone to support and shop independent retail year around and use July as a time to unite as a celebration for the independent retailers across our country and in our local communities that help build our economy. Remember, a dollar spent at an independent retailer is usually spent 6 to 15 times before it leaves the community. From $1, you create $5 to $14 in value here in Fayetteville and Cumberland County. Shopping with an independent retailer supports local traders, their suppliers and the people they depend on to run their businesses, many of which are your friends and neighbors. Buying in these local shops boosts the economy, rebuilds confidence in our town and enables local businesses to grow. When you shop with your local independent retailers you are doing your bit to keep downtown "open for business." Restaurants are part of this as well and we have more than two dozen downtown so make plans for lunch or dinner too! We look forward to celebrating independent retailers with you! Make sure to check out our Facebook page for daily highlights on the shops and restaurants that make YOUR downtown unique! Ready to Open a Business Downtown? Ready to take the plunge into own your own business and see what you can do as an entrepreneur?
