Add all the Downtown Summer Concerts to your Calendar!
One of the best known things to do in Fayetteville is to bring beach chairs and
blankets and enjoy a summer night of music in Festival Park and there are many
opportunities this summer!
Fayetteville After Five
Fayetteville after Five, brought to you by team behind the Fayetteville Dogwood
Festival, is one of the surefire ways to have a great night downtown! Concerts are
every third Friday night with gates opening at 5 and music ranging from country to funk! Eat dinner beforehand
at one of our downtown restaurants or enjoy concessions from the Downtown Fayetteville Restaurant
Association or one of their local restaurant partners.
For the concerts, get ready to dance on June 20 with Liquid Pleasure and Big Rick & the Bombers, enjoy
BeeGee's and Heart tribute classics on July 18 with Captain & The Keels and Heart Brigade and rock out to the
Eagles and Lynyrd Skynyrd with On the Boarder and Tuesday's Gone on Aug. 15.
Army Ground Forces Band Summer Concert Series
The Army Ground Forces Band never ceases to delight our community. They began with joining the
Fayetteville Symphony at the Salute to US Armed Forces on May 26 and will continue this summer with a
FREE four part concert series. The first on June 5 beginning at 7 p.m. will be movie-themed including Disney
favorites and children are encouraged to come in costume! Free popcorn will be served as well. The
following concerts will be July 31 with Loose Cannons with rock classics, Aug. 14 with the Jazz Guardians (big
band jazz, ftw!) and Aug. 28 with the full concert band. Oh, and a special note, Loose Cannons will also be play-
ing at Fourth Friday in August at the Arts Council! For these concerts, feel free to bring your own picnic baskets
for dinner or pick up a boxed dinner from our great downtown restaurants (no alcoholic beverages allowed).
Cape Fear Botanical Gardens
The Cape Fear Botanical Garden debuted their spring concert series on May 16, which will continue through
June 27. Gates open at 6 and entertainment begins at 7. Members pay $10 at the door and non members can
enter for $15. Food, beverages, beer and wine are available for purchase (no outside food or beverages allowed).
Chair rentals are available or you can bring your own. In case of inclement weather, the concerts will be moved
indoors. The Coconut Groove Band (classic rock) will perform on June 13 and the Tropic Orchestra (Latin) will
headline the June 27th show.
Independence Day Statewide Classical
Not a series, but definitely a special night, the North Carolina Symphony will be performing a a good,
old-fashioned salute to the red, white and blue on Tuesday, July 1 at Festival Park starting at 8 p.m. Hear
patriotic favorites and high-spirited classics as USA is honored on its birthday. This concert is free and open to
the public. No tickets are required and picnic baskets are welcome.
