Thornberry, 8-under for the tourna- ment leads Donnie Baucom, who for the second consecutive day came into the clubhouse in second place. Isaac Sanchez is three shots back at 5-under. First round leader Reid Scarff shot a 78, Tuesday and fell plummeted into a tie for 16th place. Red Bluff’s Steve Deveraux shot a 73 to fall back into a tie for 11th place. Pool play matches at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday and Friday. Thursday’s pool play consists of Biggs, Chester, Fall River and Maxwell. Los Molinos and Mercy play on Friday along with Princeton and Portola. On Saturday teams will compete in cross pool play, with the Top 4 schools reaching knockout play. A look at the teams: Biggs Wolverines Win total from 2009 has already been matched. GOLF Wilcox Oaks Men’s Invitational Special to the DN Wilcox Oaks Golf Club hosted its annual Men’s Invitational Golf Tourna- ment and Horserace Sept. 11-12. A field of 84 players competed for prizes and bragging rights in this weather per- fect tournament. The tournament was won by the team of Tim and Tyler McKim after they defeated Charles Eglian and Ken Morgan in a sudden death playoff. Both teams were tied after 18 holes, and Tyler McKim wrapped it up with a birdie on the first playoff hole.
