Anna is a graduate of Mercy High School and San Francisco State Univeristy. The couple will reside in Sonoma after a honeymoon in Maui. NOVEMBER 3- Carey Hobbs This Wednesday we will take a liter- ary hike into the woods with Deer in the Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Other woodsy books will be read and we will share in songs and woodsy activities. NOVEMBER 10- Carey Hobbs honoring our veterans. The true story of Nubs- a dog rescued and adopted by a soldier from Iraq will be read. Activities will center around the theme. NOVEMBER 17- Mari Apple- gate will be reading Thanksgiving stories: The Thanksgiving Day by Debbie Atwell; A Visit To Grand- ma's by Nancy Carlson and Best Thanksgiving Book by Pat White- head. DECEMBER 1 - Carey Hobbs will be sharing some funny stories about bath time: King Bidgood's In the Bathtub and He Won't Come Out! by Don and Audrey Wood and Five Minutes Peace. The Sacramento River Discovery Center begins its 2010-2011 Thursday Evening program series at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16, at the Center, 1000 Sale Lane. The program will provide a presentation about native and drought tolerant plants. It will feature the recent suc- cess of Bill Greer Landscaping and Tehama Resource Conservation District project of landscaping the entrance of the Pauline Davis Pavilion at the Tehama District Fairgrounds. Sacramento River Discovery Center programs return The SRDC Fall Native and drought tolerant plant sale The program will include Shelly Wingo of the US Fish & Wildlife Service sharing some information about how to avoid planting invasive (pest) plants in your gar- den this fall. The topic is featured at this time of year because the fall is a great time to plant native and drought tolerant plants so that they can make use of the ‘California liquid sunshine’ to establish a healthy root system. 90 years ago... Several Robberies Reported Recently Several robberies have been committed in the last few days. Los Molinos was a scene of three robberies during the weekend. The stores of Adamson and Son, J.M. Tingley and V. Hardy being those entered. The Adamson store lost $22 in small change, Tingley missed nothing and Hardy lost only a few odd cents left in the cash register. — Daily News, Sept. 15, 1920 will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday Nov. 6. The evening program will give attendees, who arrive a little early, a chance to walk through the garden and to view those plants that are fall bloomers and maybe even put their names on some plants for future purchase. As always there will be a question and answer period after the presentation and refreshments will be available. The next Thursday Evening Program will feature Jeff Sutton of the Tehama Colusa Canal authority with an update on ‘What is happening across the River.’ The presentation will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday Oct. 21.
