ALPHA TAU OMEGA GAMMA GAMMA CHAPTER ROSE-HULMAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY FALL 2023 F or Gamma Gamma, the last week- end of this September was a homecoming in every sense of the word. Sure, there was the yearly foot- ball game. Yeah, we won big time. And sure, the drone show Rose put on to celebrate the 100th bonfire was an extravaganza the likes of which may not be seen for another century. Those things were a great addition to an already amazing Gamma Gamma Homecoming. With a live band to cel- ebrate the class of '88 and a pristine house, we accommodated record num- bers of alumni who represented a range of over 50 years of brotherhood. What I'm most proud of, however, is the sense of extended brotherhood we were able to foster between our older brothers and the current actives. As alumni entered our doors, actives were tasked with asking their es- teemed brothers for their favorite ATO memories. It was heartwarming (at least for me) to see actives laugh- ing along to an alumni's story because of how closely it related to their expe- riences. As a junior, it was nice for me to see that alumni who have been out in the field for decades can still find comradery with actives who are just scratching the surface of the rest of their lives. Whether it was winning the Greek Games in 1979, renting bar- bershop chairs for SOB in 1988, get- ting married in the chapter room in 1983, or participating in Senior Week in 2022, our alumni were able to re- mind us of what being an ATO is all about. As Alumni Relations Officer, I'd like to extend my sincerest thanks to the alumni who came out and reminded us of that. Thank you, brothers. Brother Rob Banerjee '78 says it's never too early to plan, so please make sure to check out Gamma Gam- ma Homecoming next year! I'll see you on October 4th, 5th, and 6th of 2024! Jack Cooperman '25 Alumni Relations Officer 2023 Homecoming: An Extravaganza Save The Date: RHIT Homecoming 2024 October 4—October 6 Over the past twelve weeks of being back at Rose-Hulman, our fraternity brothers have been active in the community engaging in various impactful philanthropy events. To kick off Gamma Gamma giving back, we participated in the Rose Fall Day of Service. This entailed beautifying the campus entrance and helping move wood pallets for the use of the homecoming bonfire. Brothers were then able to collaborate for the Greg Gibson Terre Haute barn party. We were tasked with the party setup and teardown. Completing this task demon- strates the ability our brothers have to work together and achieve a common goal. In philanthropic efforts, we participated in the Rose Trunk or Treat for Halloween. We were able to share joy and introduce our newest pledges to our charitable ethos. Our brothers also like to be environmentally friendly, so we took advantage of Rose's Tree Planting event. This required brothers to go about the Terre Haute Community and plant trees. Our heartfelt side kicked in when we assembled bikes for charity at Bikes for Tykes. A standout moment was our annual gaming marathon on No- vember 16th. Due to the support of brothers and their families, we raised an impressive $1,066 for Rook's Resources Inc. This will aid children and families in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit). As one can see, our brothers have been hard at work with academics as well as giving back to the Rose-Hulman and Terre Haute community. Jorge Almaraz '25 Social Service Chair Social Services Update
