T8 WHATS UP! July 24 - 30, 2022 BY RAYE SMITH TV Media WHAT'S NEW ON NETFLIX "Uncoupled" It's never too late to start fresh, just as series lead Michael (Neil Patrick Harris, "How I Met Your Mother") finds out in the new Netflix series "Uncoupled," pre- miering on the streamer Friday, July 29. Working as a successful New York real estate agent with a close group of friends and a supportive family, Michael's life is everything he could ask for and more. But, when his partner of 17 years, Colin (Tuc Watkins, "One Life to Live"), moves out the night before his 50th birth- day, Michael's perfect life starts to crumble around him. While he learns to confront some of his worst fears — losing the person he thought was his soul mate and being a single gay may en- tering his 50s in the Big Apple — Michael learns how to heal and live life for himself again. Co- created by Emmy winners Jef- frey Richman ("Modern Fami- ly") and Darren Star ("Sex and the City"), this heartfelt comedy is directed by Andrew Fleming ("Emily in Paris"). The series also stars Tisha Campbell ("In- side Job"), Brooks Ashmanskas ("Julie & Julia," 2009), Emerson Brooks ("Queens"), Marcia Gay Harden ("The Morning Show"), Colin Hanlon ("Modern Fami- ly"), Jay Santiago ("Ghostwrit- er"), Jhulenty Delossantos ("Ci- catrix," 2018), Ajay Naidu ("Of- fice Space," 1999), Denny Dillon ("Dream On"), David A. WHAT'S NEW ON HBO MAX "Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin" - Season 1 A new generation of lies is born in the HBO Max original com- ing-of-age drama series "Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin," pre- miering its first three episodes Thursday, July 28, on the stream- er. The remaining seven epi- sodes of this "Pretty Little Liars" spinoff are slated to air Aug. 4, 11 and 18. Twenty years ago, a se- ries of dark and tragic events nearly tore the town of Mill- wood apart. Now, a new group of teenage girls find themselves tormented by an assailant known only as "A," a shadowy figure who makes them pay for the secret sin committed by their parents years before — as well as for some sins of their own. This new generation of li- ars may be in a new town, but they can't escape their pasts. Based on the bestselling series of books by Sara Shepard, "Orig- inal Sin" is created for television by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa ("Riverdale") and directed by Lisa Soper ("Chilling Adven- tures of Sabrina"), Cierra Glaude ("Queen Sugar"), Maggie Kiley ("Dirty John") and Alex Pillai ("Bridgerton"). Bailee Madison ("Good Witch"), Chandler Kin- ney ("Zombies 3," 2022), Zaria ("Two Distant Strangers," 2020), Malia Pyles ("Baskets") and Maia Reficco ("Kally's Mash- up") star as the new generation of liars, with Mallory Bechtel ("Hereditary," 2018), Sharon Leal ("Supergirl"), Elena Goode ("As the World Turns"), Lea Sa- longa ("Mulan," 1998), Eric John- son ("Vikings") and Alex Aiono ("Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.") in supporting roles. "Harley Quinn" - Season 3 The DC Universe returns to HBO Max with even more mad- ness when Season 3 of the adult animated series "Harley Quinn" premieres its first three episodes on the platform Thursday, July 28. Kill." tour and return to Gotham City as DC's newest villainous power couple. While Harley and Ivy work to make the best of their relationship, they put Ivy's long-desired plan of turning Gotham into an Eden- like paradise into action. Based on the original DC Comics char- acters, "Harley Quinn" is devel- oped by Justin Halpern ("Sur- viving Jack"), Patrick Schumack- er ("Powerless") and Dean Lo- rey ("Arrested Development").
