Help to en- courage New businesses in locating to Quartzsite while assuring the future of current business's for ex- istence and potential growth oppor- tunities. -Water. Is a State wide and Region- al problem. Determine the best use currently for water and resources, while pursuing and acquiring viable resources for developing affordable city usage for business and private individuals. -City Growth. With the average age of the citizens of Quartzsite be- ing 71 years. old, we need to attract younger people to come and stay in Quartzsite. Jobs and housing will be vital and important part of that equa- tion. -Housing. To determine options to develop, flood free land, with the re- sources needed to develop residential Home Construction through quality builders and developers. Obviously, this will provide and encourage an influx of residents/workers, plus en- hancing current and new businesses growth, thus eliminating tedious travel to far reaching towns, etc. - Tourism. Increasing desirable at- tractions, activities, and shopping that most families/vacationers seek for enjoyment and rest as they stop or travel through Quartzsite. Con- sequently, this would insure busi- ness and individual income for both Summer and Winter seasons. 7. My far-reaching experience on large scale operations involving not only regulations, but cost savings on projects, and meeting deadlines as project manager. My love for the people and charm of Quartzsite, keeps me focused on my role as rep- resenting the town, it's people, and keeping their best interests as my focus, is the very reason I am asking for your vote. LEO STILES Write-in 4 year seat No response DENNIS VOSPER 2. 2-year write–in Quartzsite Town Council 3. facebook.com/vosper4council 4. What in your background, train- ing, and experience qualifies you for the position you are seeking? The starting point for all voters should be to ask if the candidate running analyses and interprets government and law through the lens of the Declaration of Indepen- dence and the US Constitution. Does the candidate believe govern- ments are created (voted on) to pro- tect and defend the unalienable rights of individuals to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness? Will the candidate uphold and de- fend the US Constitution? The majority of elected politicians today do NOT have a good under- standing of the original intent of the US Constitution… we need to aban- don the move towards collectivism and embrace the ideas and princi- ples of the Declaration and Consti- tution once again. The problem with this question is that it does NOT address the root of the matter… What is the worldview of the candidate by which they will necessarily employ and use as their standard, or guide, to make deci- sions for the town? A full blown Socialist could have CANDIDATES FROM PAGE 16 multiple degrees, have volunteered on town committees, attended town council meetings, they could be master of open meeting laws, et al… but if their lens is primarily Social- istic in nature they will not support and defend the unalienable rights of the individual. I will uphold and defend your in- duvial unalienable rights. 5. In the past year I've been ex- tremely busy managing both local radio stations, wherein I provided the lowest rates on the Town's paid ads as well as provided tens of thou- sands of dollars in free publicity for the Town of Quartzsite and the Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, I've helped numerous businesses with affordable advertis- ing so that they can thrive and grow, which adds to the development of our community, plus greater sales tax revenues for the town. 6. 1. Election integrity – We should abolish Town Code 30.09(b) which interferes in our elections and does not allow you, the voter, to decide who they elect. 2. Rising Water/Sewer Utility Rates – I would oppose all rate increases. If you are like so many people I've met here in town, you see the price of everything is increasing. You can- not afford to pay higher taxes and or water/sewer rates. I will be a watch- dog for you and vote against all tax and utility rate increases. 3. Town officials not protecting and defending unalienable rights – The most common lens among our elect- ed officials, when you examine their voting records, is collectivism in- stead of following what the Declara- tion of Independence states govern- ment should do… which is protect and defend the unalienable rights of the induvial, which is best for the community. If you elect me I will be on guard and oppose all Council matters, motions, ordinances, et al that violate your individual unalien- able rights. Increasing housing and business are primary as well… For housing: We need to work with the BLM and the State to sell the land within our town limits to indi- viduals and families for what I envi- sion could be affordable 1 to 5 acre homesteads. For business, I believe creating a strong "Main Street USA" theme with reducing the roadway down to two large lanes with a center lane, creating parking on both sides, while at the same time drop the speed limit to 25mph will be very positive. This will take a lot of work with ADOT, but the theme would attract more businesses and visitors while giving Quartzsite added char- acter and charm. 7. I will uphold and defend your in- dividual unalienable rights… more freedom, less government, lower taxes, protect private property rights, and encourage more busi- ness. ROBERT ST. GERMAIN (AKA GUNNY) 2. Two-year Quartzsite Town Council (Write in candidate) 3. Facebook - Bob St. Germain 4. Retired Marine Corps, Retired Correctional Peace Officer, Two- year term on Quartzsite Town coun- cil (2014-2016), 7 years on the board of directors Industrial Development Authority of La Paz County. 5. I have been talking to the resi- dents of Quartzsite getting to know what they like about our commu- nity and what they don't like what is happening to our town. 6. The number one public is- sue I see is to give the residents of Quartzsite a voice in what happens. After talking to a lot of the residents seems to be quite a few that feel they have been intimidated by some from the town when they voice what's on their minds. The number two issue with Quartzsite is two items that go hand in hand - Housing and Bring- ing Businesses to town. 7. If elected I will work hard for the residents of Quartzsite. I will always have an open-door policy with con- fidentiality. I have always stood for the residents of Quartzsite, and I al- ways will. Thank You again Robert St. Germain, Gunny SEE CANDIDATES PAGE 18
