In 1918 Robert Ripley's first Believe It or Not! cartoon was published, initially called "Champs and Chumps", featuring a collection of sports oddities. In addition to publishing he conquered radio, television, movies and opened the first museum called an Odditorium at the Chicago World's Fair in 1939. He traveled to over 200 countries over 40 years and was considered the modern Marco Polo and the real life Indiana Jones.
