The Crescent page 4 T his past year has been unlike any we have ever encountered. Amid the craziness of the pandemic, we successfully recruited 113 members virtually during primary recruitment in the fall. We also hosted two philanthropy events, one virtual and one in person, to raise for money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. On top of that, we have had a wide range of online and in-person sisterhood events to connect members. Even with mainly virtual classes, our women exceled with an overall GPA of 3.625 in the fall semester. Yes, we certainly faced our tribulations. We dealt with a large number of COVID-19 cases and supported these women as best as we could during their quarantines, including getting a meal delivery service for their benefit. We had to remove our soft and porous furniture from the Tri Delta House, switch to three people per table in the dining room instead of eight, and we had a limited number of social events. In spite of all of this, we were amazed by the sisters' acceptance and assimilation into this new environment. Our biggest takeaways from this year are that we have learned to support one another, to adapt, to be creative, to be understanding, and to love harder. We have seen our sisterhood grow immensely in these past months as we made the best of these unprecedented times. We are extremely proud of the women in Delta Mu and excited to see what the coming year holds as we slowly return to normal.
