It is a pleasure to maintain a connection with the Chapter and help encourage and empower these impressive young women." Lyndsey Sharp Whisner '10 is the Chapter development and programming advisor. Serving in college as the vice president of Chapter development, which included chair of standards, academic development chair, and alumnae relations chair, helped shape me into a leader and boosted my confidence to seek additional leadership roles beyond graduation. The wonderful memories and friendships that I made within the Delta Mu Chapter are something I will always cherish. It is for these reasons that I am proud to volunteer and give back to my Chapter." In my many years of service, I have observed with pride Tri Delta's growth, both nationally and at the University of Alabama. They are the best at adapting to the changing needs of both their collegiate and alumnae members. In addition to building bonds of friendship, Tri Delta strives to empower young women and teach them life skills that will be useful once they graduate. Volunteering with the chapter exposes me to some of the brightest and finest young women at the University of Alabama. It is simply a joy to work with both the members and the other alumnae advisors; I highly recommend it!" Meet Delta Mu's Alumnae Advisors O ne of the goals of the Tri Delta Executive Office (EO) is to prepare our members for life after college. For several years, EO has provided to all chapters the AAUW Start Smart program, which brings facilitators to the Chapter to help members learn salary negotiation skills, budgeting, and other skills they need to be financially independent and to understand the working world. About five years ago, EO decided that the officer structure needed to change to better resemble business organizations in the corporate arena. The officer structure is set up to reflect a typical business organization, with the president at the top. Beneath the president are four teams, headed by a vice president: operations, Chapter programing and development, community relations, and membership experience. There are advisors for each of the teams and directors beneath each VP for more detailed attention to the areas involved. There are also equally important standing committees: diversity, equity and inclusion; governing documents; membership selection; officer selection; conduct; academics; finance; executive; and sponsor selection. So, without further ado, here are our four VP team advisors and well as the supporting advisors in specific areas. (Continued on page 6)
