She is the daughter of Ruth Hutchinson of Florida and the late John Allen Blount. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Carroll Sr.; and her son, James Roy Carroll Jr. In addition to her moth- er, she is survived by her daughter, Jamie Carroll Costner and husband, Chris of Shelby; two grandchil- dren; and nine brothers and sisters. IRENE "MAW MAW" HENSON Irene "Maw Maw" Henson, age 96, of Cliffside, passed away January 13, 2020. She was born to the late Jesse Earl Padgett and Rosa Lee Mitchell Padgett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Thomas Henson; an infant daughter, Linda Henson; twin sister, Lorene Dodson; and five brothers, James, Barney, Clyde, Earl and Emil Padgett. JACK DEMPSEY ROBBS Mr. Jack Dempsey Robbs, 80, of Cherryville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2020. Jack was a son of the late Ralph Brown Robbs and Florence Dellinger Robbs. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Robbs Beam. Mr. Robss is survived by his two daughters, Shea Putnam and husband, Dennis of Chesnee, SC; Susan Crawley and hus- band George of Crouse; a sister, Margaret Robbs of Cherryville; a brother, R.B. Robbs and wife, Becky of Lincolnton; a granddaughter; and a great granddaughter. A private graveside service was held at City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville. EVELYN BRACKETT DAVIS Evelyn Brackett Davis, 83, of Casar, passed away January 14, 2020. She was a daughter of the late A.C. Brackett, Sr. and Ethel Whisnant Brackett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Jackson Davis; four sis- ters, Helen Newton, Betty Jo Brackett, Brenda Seagle, Margaret Short and Mary Anne Nespola; five half- sisters, Dessie Carpenter, Leonia Pruett, Polly Doster, Irene Phillips and Willard Huitt; three brothers, Roy Landrum Brackett, William Ruffin Brackett and Carmie Andrew Brackett; and half- brother, A.C. Corporal Daves served our country in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was the son of Marshall and Danielle Cooper of Blacksburg and father, Jeffrey C. Daves. He is survived by two daughters, Jaelyn and Addilee Daves of Gaffney; brother, Nate Cooper; sis- ter, Shawna Cooper of Blacksburg; maternal grand- mother; paternal grandfa- ther; and paternal grand- mother.
