B e c o m e a part of the 2020 Cleveland County Senior Games! The Cleveland County Senior Games are for adults age 50 or better and is a holistic approach to keeping the body, mind and spirit fit while enjoy- ing the company of friends, fam- ily, spectators and volunteers. The Senior Games activi- ties include pickleball, cornhole, shuffleboard, swimming, bowl- ing and many other activities to choose from. The S i l v e r A r t s h i g h l i g h t s the talents related to art, handi- crafts, photography and written works, such as poetry and essays. It also includes performing arts, such as singing, dancing and acting. The 2020 SilverArts are set for March 23-26 and the Senior Games will be held March 30-April 3. There are two kick-off events. The first is Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 2PM at the Neal Senior Center. The second one will be Friday, Jan. 31 at 10AM at the Patrick Senior Center in Kings Mountain. Each kick-off is open to new and returning participants. You will hear about the events, includ- ing the registration procedure, any upcoming changes, the vari- ous activities offered and much more. You will also be able to pick up a registration packet and snacks will be provided. To reserve a spot for either kick-off date, please pre-register with the Neal Center by calling 704/482- 3488 by Jan. 24. 2020 Sr. Games/SilverArts Kick-Off Lake Norman Catawba Queen River Boat Tour & Launch April 14, 2020 Lake Norman, "The Island Sea," offers 520 miles of shore- line, a surface area of more than 50 square miles and a depth of up to 110 feet. Experience this grandeur personally with breath- taking views of Lake Norman. We'll venture aboard the presti- gious "Catawba Queen." The captain will take us on a narrated tour of Lake Norman showing points of interest and history of Lake Norman. We will leave Neal Senior Center on April 14, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. to travel to Mooresville to board the river boat. We will be served a box lunch while onboard. The cruise will last 1-1/2 hours. After the lunch cruise, we will make our way over to Cherryville to tour the Grier Beam Truck Museum. The museum is housed in the original gas stration where Carolina Freight had its humble beginnings. We will explore over 7500 square feet of vintage truck- ing memorabilia coverfing over seven decades. Carolina Freight was one of America's largest and most respected trucking compa- nies in the world. The price for this day trip is $55.00, due when you sign up.
