A s alumnae built our beloved chapter house in 1928 for future generations, we are renovating and adding on to that same chapter house for our future Alpha Delta sisters. While we have made great progress thanks to many generous alumnae, our work is far from complete. Every day we are closer to having our beautiful home restored to all its glory, which is why we are proud to officially announce the It's Our House! The Campaign for 808 Richmond capital campaign. WHERE HAVE WE BEEN? We have overcome obstacles with this old house, including brick, tile, and mortar issues, replacing a cracked basement floor, altering architectural plans due to surprise steel beams, replacing windows throughout the entire existing structure (last replaced in 1982), and replacing the roof (last replaced in 2003). WHERE ARE WE NOW? Little Dixie Construction Company is performing its due diligence to get this project complete and on time for August move-in and recruitment. The existing building will be finished July 1. On the new addition, the work is continuing. We have experienced delays that have impacted the overall schedule. It is not determined as of yet the actual completion date and we will know more the middle of May. We are working on contingencies. We are working with the city to occupy the chapter house in August and to accommodate the 32 women displaced, but we will be able to accommodate them all in the existing facility. The third-floor sheetrock is installed, and the bathrooms are tiled. The second floor is framed, wiring placed, sheetrock installed, and the bathrooms are progressing. The Alumnae Lounge wiring is installed, and the house director's suite is framed, sheetrocked, wiring is installed, and painting has been completed. The stairs to the basement are ready to be placed and the bathroom is moving forward. The basement level executive office is sheetrocked, the craft room floor joists are repaired, and the new concrete floor laid. Painting of second- and third-floor bedrooms and hallways have also been completed. The elevator tower is in and the stair tower is also complete. This area has been backfilled with footings placed and foundation wall completed. For more project details turn to pages 2-3. WHERE DO WE NEED ALUMNAE SUPPORT? To date, 61 generous sisters have recognized the importance of securing Alpha Delta's success for posterity. With more than $360,000 raised, we are halfway toward our goal of $615,000, but we need the continued support of our 2,400 active alumnae. No matter the amount, every contribution speaks volumes. By using the enclosed pledge form and return envelope today or visiting our online giving link (https://tinyurl.com/ y2g7uq5r), you will join your sisters as a founder of Alpha Delta's bright future. Don't miss your chance to secure a naming opportunity before June 30. Pledges may be stretched over a three-year giving period, and those contributing $2,500 or more will have their names permanently displayed on our donor plaque in the renovated chapter structure. The need is great, and the time is now, so please don't hesitate to secure Alpha Delta's legacy at 808 Richmond.
