What a few weeks we have had. Cer- tainly, wish we had a bigger parking lot. Daily complaints about not fi nding a place to park. Guess that is a good comment really. Thank you frequent shoppers and donors…..we are doing our best to clean, price and get items out as quickly as we can. We have so many mar- velous volunteers that are very busy each day. A public thank you to Desert Awning from Parker Arizona, for installing a beautiful porch enclosure on our back dock. This was a donated job that would have cost several thousands of dollars. Tommy Cochran you and your guys did an awesome job. I would like to encourage all families with young children to think about participating in the Parents as Teachers program. This free pro- gram is an internationally recognized, strength based and evidence-based parenting education and support program. The program provides home visits on your schedule. Program for families with children from birth to 5 years old. Penny, the outreach specialist was here for our Santa Event. She had the art activity and Rein- deer book for kiddos last month. We have fl yers in the store too. I think you'll like the services, such as; motor/social skills, cognitive develop- ment, tips for easing tantrums, health screen- ings, assistance with potty training, etc. that they provide. Inside vendor spaces are nearly full and outside spaces are fi lling fast. There will be lots of new vendors this year. Dr. Erik Melquiorre will be au- tographing Quartzsite Gold Atlas Volume No. 3, which covers east of Highway 95 From Bouse to the military land. New and interesting speakers. A really fun thing will be the 3rd annual Desert Duck Race. Come see what this is all about. It is a fundraiser for the local 4-H kids. Sierra Blaster will be making rocks into little rocks.
