He was born in Salt Lake City, but spent 30 years living in Granby, Colorado. He has spent most of his life working with horses on dude ranches and trail rides. His books refl ect his memories of early life adventures and a lot of humor to go with it. Stu has written a series of 4 short story books called Horsing around a Lot, Humor Around Horses, More Humor Around Horses, and Comedy Around Cowboys. He also wrote several stand-alones called Muddy Waters, The Loner, The Wagon, The Drifter, and Life of a Cowboy. He has now completed his 9 book series for young readers 8-15 years old titled A Young Cowboy's Adventures that include Honey, Surprise, Intruders, Expectations, Frozen, Advice, Broken, Ginny, and Wild Horses for Wild Kids. His newest books will be arriving soon; Patience and Persistence and Top Hand. Another author who is here for the third year is Buddy Hannah, a re- tired Colonel in the Air Force for 21 1/2 years who comes from northern Arkansas, where he still lives when he is not on the road selling books. Buddy's family history is the basis of his books based on his Cherokee heritage. He has one series of four books that go from 1866-1850 called the Rising Sun Series, and they in- clude Rising Sun the Grand War- rior, Rising Sun Goes to New York City, Rising Sun Goes to Ireland, and Rising Sun to the Rescue. He is also working on a 30 book series that goes from 1726 to 2015 by the time he is done. His fi rst four books in the Eagle Bear Series include Ea- gle Bear (recently a best seller) as well as Eagle Bear Meets Buffalo Man, Eagle Right Claw and Eagle Left Claw, and Red Eagle. He is currently working on the next sev- eral books in this series. His single stand-alone book is a spin off called The Cherokee Kid, also a best seller with a twist and may be made into a movie! You can also get his books on Ebooks and on his website www. buddyhannah.com Returning for another year is Ron Lazenby, originally from Blythe who grew up on a farm that had alfalfa, grain and cattle. He and his wife, Ann, live in the high desert in south- ern California. His books are west- erns that include Arizona Ranger, Who is Cord Mundy?, Showdown at Castle Ranch, Wild Horse Junc- tion, a three-story book of Western Adventures and his newest release Ride with Noble West. Helen Kline is another author who is here for her second year. Her books include Grandma Ida, a memoir of her grandmother who homesteaded, and also Aully Jour- nal, about Ida's brother who be- came a mountain man and ended up with The North-West Mounted Police (NWMP). She also wrote a book called Cry of the Hawk, a 2 part story about Chief Oeoch and his journey to Canada. In the fi rst part his son who went looking for him for many years, thinking he was already dead. Instead, he found out that his father ended up at the Little Big Horn --a different perspective of that memorable event! Helen is now starting to write fi ction and has two books in a new series; west- erns called Pearl Handled Colts and Capture the Wind. It is about a young Blackfoot boy who grew up in Montana and went on to become a US Marshall after escaping from the hangman for a crime he did not commit. The newest member of the group is W.C. Quick, who writes several different types of books. One of his books is a Sci-Fi called The Worlds of the Orb and he calls it an urban fantasy/sci-fi mix; a modern femi- nist fairytale. He also writes futur- istic AI tales (Artifi cial Intelligence.) He has written a military history book based on his father's letters to his mother, Karen, after he was de- ployed to Korea in 1946. There will be more new authors coming in the next months, so please be sure to come to the Reader's Oa- sis Bookstore and check out the great books they have written.
